Online Application Process
1.Make PAYMENT
In order to fill in the online application, payment of application fee has to made either by core banking method or DD method. Fee payment has to be made apriori in the case of the DD method. See how to apply for detalis.

2.Fill in the ONLINE application form
You will have to first
register to
access the online application form. For registering, you will have to
provide a login Id, password, first name, last name and email
Id.
Click on 'core banking method' or 'DD method' to view the form. FILL in the appropriate data. You will have to FILL in the payment details also in the case of DD method of fee payment. In case of DD method of fee payment, you must enter the Demand Draft number, the 9-digit Bank Id or the MICR No. (that is next to the Demand Draft number on the DD) and the Bank name for the payment details.
3.UPLOAD Photo and Signature
After submitting the online application, a soft copy of the digital images of your photo and signature has to be upload onto the website. Click on 'upload photo signature' and upload both the pictures. The digital images of photo and signature can be obtained from (i) a scanner set to 200dpi resolution, (ii) from a digital camera or mobile camera and/or (iii) photot studio. The following aspect ratio of the photo and signature should be strictly maintained by using any photo editor,
PHOTO aspect = width x height :: 4 x 5 (resolution = 200dpi)
SIGNATURE aspect = width x height :: 5 x 1 (resolution = 200dpi)

4.PRINT the online application form
After submitting the
online
application, you will be able to view/print a PDF document of the online
application with your specific details/data. For this you must logon to
the GATE website from a computer that has Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 and
above. From the onscreen view of the PDF document that your browser
projects, you can PRINT the generated PDF online application form. You can also
SAVE a copy of the PDF application form for your reference.
5.POSTING
For GENERAL/OBC candidates, if core banking approach has been used and if the photo and signature are upload, then only PAID CHALLAN has to be posted. However, online application form printout (pdf) should be enclosed if
a. fee payment is by DD
b. the category is SC/ST
c. the person is physically disabled
d. photo and signature has not been uploaded
5.POSTING
For GENERAL/OBC candidates, if core banking approach has been used and if the photo and signature are upload, then only PAID CHALLAN has to be posted. However, online application form printout (pdf) should be enclosed if

b. the category is SC/ST
c. the person is physically disabled
d. photo and signature has not been uploaded
5a.PASTE PHOTO and SIGN
If
photo and signature are not uploaded through the website, then on the
PRINTED
application form
mentioned in step-4, PASTE a recent good quality non-attested photo of
yourself in the space provided. Sign in the space provided
for
specimen signature and the declaration at the bottom of the application
form. The signature should be identical in both the places and it
should be YOUR signature only.
The signature will be scanned and put on the Admit Card as well as the Scorecard. If the candidate’s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Admit Card, the candidate will be disqualified.

5b.OBTAIN SC/ST/Disability CERTIFICATE
SC/ST
certificate and/or
Physical Disability
certificate should be obtained from appropriate authorities IF
APPLICABLE.
5c.POST
Place
the printed
online
application form and if applicable, the SC/ST and/or Disability
certificates
and DD or paid Challan in
an envelope and send it to THE CHAIRMAN, GATE Office, INDIAN INSTITUTE
OF
SCIENCE, BANGALORE - 560012 by SPEED/ REGISTERED POST only.
